JUNXI Story

A Global Program of Excellence

Erie Prep is home to both Prep and Postgraduate (PG) basketball teams, each recruiting exceptional student-athletes from around the world. These programs provide athletes with a structured academic and athletic experience that enhances their college recruitment profiles while allowing them to refine their strength, skill, and strategic understanding of the game.

The Academy proudly mentored Junxi Yang, the first Division I Chinese shooting guard in history—a testament to Erie Prep’s international recruitment and player development success.

Training and Facilities

Erie Prep athletes train at two premier facilities—the Erie Sports Now Complex and the AHN Sports Performance Center—offering professional-grade courts, advanced recovery technology, and dedicated strength and conditioning programs. Training sessions include individualized skill development, film study, and one-on-one coaching from expert staff, ensuring that every athlete receives personalized attention designed to unlock their highest potential.

Program Philosophy and Structure

At Erie Prep, every team is a premier team—there are no “B-teams.” Each roster is carefully built to maintain consistent competition and quality, ensuring that all players develop and perform at the highest level possible. The PIAA-sanctioned high school teams are open to unrecruited athletes who aim to compete while growing their academic and athletic abilities in a structured, mentoring environment.

Students in the Prep and Postgraduate programs receive direct assistance in college recruitment and placement, with individualized pathways that match their academic qualifications and athletic skill levels. Through Erie Prep’s network, players gain exposure to college coaches, recruitment showcases, and international tournaments designed to highlight their strengths and readiness for the next step.
